3 in 1 sharpening and grinding device

Intended use
The product is used to sharpen/grind drill bits, knives, scissors, planer blades, firmer chisels
and chisels (all made of metal). Only use the sharpener/grinder dry.
The product may only be used on mains voltage (230 - 240 V/AC, 50 Hz).
The product may only be used in enclosed indoor locations. Outdoor use is not allowed. Con-
tact with moisture, for example in bathrooms or the like, must be avoided.
For safety and approval reasons, you may not convert and/or alter the product. If you use the
product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. Moreo-
ver, the improper use involves risks such as short-circuits, fire, electric shocks, etc. Please read
the operating instructions carefully and do not discard them. If you pass the product on to a third
party, please hand over these operating instructions as well.

Explanation of symbols

manual which absolutely have to be observed.
The arrow symbol is used when specific tips and information on handling are provi-
ded.
The product is designed according to protection class II (reinforced or double insu-
lation, protective insulation).

Safety instructions
Please read the operating instructions carefully and pay particular attention
to the safety instructions. We do not assume liability for injuries/material
damages resulting from failure to observe the safety instructions and the
information in these operating instructions regarding the proper handling of
the product. Furthermore, in such cases, the warranty/guarantee will be null
and void.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not allowed for
safety and approval reasons. Never dismantle the product.
• The product is not a toy. Devices operated on mains voltage should not be used by
children. Therefore, be especially careful when children are around.
• Use the product where it is out of the reach of children. The same applies to
storage.
• This product is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or by persons lacking corresponding ex-
perience or skills, unless they are supervised by a person who is responsible for
their safety, or who were previously instructed by this person on how to use the
appliance.
• The product is only intended for use in dry, enclosed spaces, it must not get damp
or wet. There is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!

• The product is only suitable for dry grinding.
• The design of the product complies with the safety class II.
• The mains socket into which the mains plug is plugged must be easily accessible.
• Do not pull the power plug from the mains socket by pulling on the cable.
• Route the power cord in such a way, that it may not get damaged and no one can
trip over it. Never use the power cord to move the sharpener/grinder.
• Do not use the product in rooms with adverse environmental conditions, where
combustible gases, vapours or dust are or may be present! There is a danger of
explosion!
• Keep your workstation clean.
• Only work with sufficient lighting at your workstation.
• Ensure proper ventilation during the grinding process.
• Wear suitable protective clothing, protective gloves and protective goggles when
grinding. Hot and glowing metal particles created during the process of grinding
may lead to severe burns or eye injuries.
• The hot and glowing metal particles created during grinding may cause damage
to surfaces located near the sharpener/grinder (e.g. table, wall, floor, furniture).
Therefore, never use the sharpener/grinder near valuable surfaces, furniture or
floors, or use suitable underlays and protective measures. We recommend using
the sharpener/grinder in an appropriate hobby room or garage, for example.
Do not use the sharpener/grinder near easily inflammable objects either (such as
carpets, curtains) or liquids (petrol, oil). Fire hazard!
• When working with the sharpener/grinder, do not touch the rotating parts.
• Even after the motor has been turned off, the sharpening stone will turn for some
time before it comes to a standstill. Never try stopping the sharpening stone by
hand or by a tool. Also, do not try to stop the sharpening stone by means of the
locking knob, which is only intended for changing the sharpening stone.
• The sharpening stone may get very hot. Do not touch it after use; risk of burns!
• If the tool (a chisel, for instance) turns blue, it is overheated and may be damaged.
Pause frequently when grinding and do not keep the tool to the the sharpening
stone for too long.
• Never run the motor unit if the proper attachment is not mounted (grinder, drill bit
sharpener or knife sharpener). Never use the motor unit in connection with other
devices.
• An attachment may only be installed, removed or changed when the motor unit is
turned off and the drive has stopped spinning. There is a risk of serious injury, if
this is not observed! This will also ruin the product and void the warranty!
• Never lock the On/Off switch.
• Operating time must not exceed 15 minutes. Afterwards, allow the product to cool
down for at least 15 minutes before using it again.
• If the product or power cord is damaged, do not touch it; there is a risk of fatal
electric shock!
First, turn off the mains voltage to all poles of the mains socket to which the pro-
duct is connected (switch off the corresponding circuit breaker, remove the safety
fuse or switch off the corresponding RCD protective switch).
Then you can remove the mains plug from the mains socket. Discontinue use of
the product, take it to a specialised workshop or dispose of in an environmentally
friendly manner.
• Any maintenance or repair work may be performed only by an expert.
• Never use the product immediately after moving it from a cold room into a warm
one. The condensation that forms might damage the product.. Furthermore, this
could cause a lethal electric shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature before connecting it to the power
supply and putting it into use. In some cases, this may take several hours.
• Avoid the following adverse conditions at the location of installation and during
transport:
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations, impacts or blows
- Strong magnetic fields such as those found close to machinery or loudspeakers
• Disconnect the power supply from the power socket if the product will not be used
for a while (e.g. storage).
