General operation
To change the channel proceed as follows:
CTCSS code
The Young446 plus has altogether 38 pilot tones which work in the
CTCSS standard. A private sub-audible tone may be programmed and
associated with every channel, to protect the radio from unwanted calls or
interference from other operators on the same channel. Squelch will open
and incoming messages will be received only from radios using the same
CTCSS tone on that channel.
To change the CTCSS code proceed as follows:
Squelch control
The Young446 plus has an automatic squelch which can be adjusted
in 4 steps. In case the Young446 plus is used close to other electronic
devices, the squelch might open. To avoid this, the squelch sensitivity
can be adjusted.
To adjust the squelch level, proceed as follows:

1. Press the Up-/Down until CH appears on the dis-
play.
2. Press the OK button to confi rm.
3. Use the Up-/Down button to select the channel.
4. Press the OK button to confi rm.
1. Press the Up-/Down until Code appears on the
display.
2. Press the OK button to confi rm.
3. Use the Up-/Down button to change the CTCSS
code 0-38 (0 = CTCSS off).
