Setting the Depth Gauge
– Wear personal protective equipment
– Depth gauges can be set using a 1/4" (6 4 mm) wheel (sold separately)
or using a flat file and depth gauge tool (sold separately)
Grinding Wheel Dressing for Setting the Depth Gauge
Fit the 1/4" (6 4 mm) thick grinding wheel (sold
separately), following the instructions given on pages
14-15
DO NOT check the grinding wheel shape or dress
the grinding wheel as shown on page 16
Turn the vise so that the vise reference
mark pointer (13) is on 0°
Position the dressing brick (E) on the vise jaws
(10) and against the chain stop (8) Hold the
dressing brick firmly with one hand, keeping
fingers / hands clear of the grinding wheel

Start the grinder by turning the switch to position "I"
Lower the motor unit (A) with the operating handle (1)
Grind the wheel against the dressing brick until
you obtain a profile like the one illustrated
Note: when dressing the grinding
wheel, use intermittent strokes to avoid
burning the dressing stone
WARNING Contact with the grinding wheel while it
spins at high speed may cause burning and abrasions
