Choosing & Installing the Grinding Wheel
WARNING
– Do not force the grinding wheel (C) on the flange (5) and do not alter the center hole
diameter Do not use grinding wheels that do not fit perfectly in place
– Ensure flange knob (4) and flange (5) are clean and intact
Choose the Grinding Wheel
1/8" grinding wheel is installed at factory
Choose the correct size grinding wheel
based on the type of chain to be sharpened
(see the chain chart on page 12)
Testing the Grinding Wheel
Hold the grinding wheel (C) up by its center
hole Knock the edge of the grinding wheel
gently with a non-metallic object If it makes
a dull, non-metallic noise it means that the
wheel could be damaged: DO NOT USE IT!
Remove the Wheel Shield
Using a Phillips-head screwdriver remove the grinding
wheel guard (2) by removing the three screws (3)

Remove Flange
Remove the grinding wheel flange knob (4)
by unscrewing it counter-clockwise
Install Grinding Wheel
Insert and perfectly center the grinding wheel
(C) in the dedicated seat on the flange (5)
