A 1 Cross Bar with European facing to 94/20/EC – A50-1
B 2 M16 x 40 x 2.0mm Bolts, Lock Washers and 1 Nut
C 2 M14 x 45 x 1.5mm Fine Pitch Bolts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (28mm O.D.)
D 5 M12 x 35 x 1.25mm Fine Pitch Bolts, Lock Washers, Flat Washers (25mm O.D.) and 1 Nut
E 1 Left Hand Side Arm
E1 1 Left Hand Forward Cleat
E2 1 Left Hand Rear Cleat
F 1 Right Hand Side Arm
F1 1 Right Hand Forward Cleat
F2 1 Right Hand Rear Cleat
G 2 Spreader Plates
H 1 M14 x 35 x 1.5mm Fine Pitch Bolt, Lock Washer and Flat Washer (28mm O.D.) and 1 M12 x 30 x
1.25mm Fine Pitch Bolt, Nut, Lock Washer, Flat Washer (25mm O.D.)
J 2 M14 x 45 x 1.5mm Fine Pitch Bolts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (28mm O.D.)
J1 1 M14 x 35 x 1.5mm Fine Pitch Bolt, Lock Washer and Flat Washer (28mm O.D.)
CP 1 Coupling Packer
CB 2 M16 x 50 x 2.0mm Coupling Bolts, Nuts and Lock Washers
Z 1 ZEP35 Electrical Plate (not shown)
FITTING
1. Remove towing eyes, retaining original bolts and towing hook on left hand side.
2. LooseIy attach Cross Bar (A) to Left Hand Side Arm (E) using Bolts (B). Loosely attach Left Hand Side Arm (E) to vehicle
chassis with Left Hand Rear Cleat (E2) and towing hook using 2 original bolts at (X). Note: Use thread lock compound on
original bolts.
3. Loosely attach Cross Bar (A) and Right Hand Side Arm (F) to chassis using 2 original bolts at (Y) and Bolts (C). Insert
Spreader Plate (G) into chassis on right hand side and attach Right Hand Rear Cleat (F2) using 3 Bolts (D). Insert
Spreader Plate (G) into chassis on left hand side and attach Left Hand Rear Cleat (E2) using remaining Bolts (D)
4. Loosely attach Right Hand Forward Cleat (F1) to Right Hand Side Arm (F) and captive nut in vehicle chassis using Bolts
(H). Loosely attach Left Hand Forward Cleat (E1) to Left Hand Side Arm (E) and captive nuts in chassis using Bolts (J)
and (J1). Tighten all bolts.
NOTE: On some vehicles it may be necessary to bend the rearmost exhaust hanger to gain extra clearance.
Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z1X) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball dimensionally
Conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M8 - 27Nm, M10 - 53 Nm, M12 - 95 Nm , M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm
