GENERAL WARNINGS
FOR USE
Follow the warnings below carefully.
Failure to observe these warnings
during use or installation of the
wheels may result in component
failures that can lead to accidents
and serious injury, even death.
See also the Maintenance section for checks
required prior to use and during the life of
the wheels to ensure safe operation of OQUO
wheels.
Damage to components caused by
NOTICE
not following the instructions below
is not covered by the warranty
conditions.
NOTICE
The installation and maintenance
described in this manual require
basic mechanical knowledge of the
bicycle. If you are not sure you can
perform the checks described above,
please contact your authorized
OQUO distributor.
AXLES
Always adjust the thru axles correctly before
using your wheels. Refer to your bicycle manual
for the correct wheel installation method and
axle tightening torque. For suspension forks,
refer to the manufacturer's documentation for
the correct installation method of the front
wheel and thru axle.
Improperly installed wheels can cause the
wheel to come off during use, resulting in
accidents and/or serious injury.
USER MANUAL
On quick-release axles, as a general rule, if the
locking lever does not leave a mark on your
hand when tightening the wheel, the axle is not
tightened enough.
TIRES
On Tubeless wheels, use only Tubeless Ready
or UST tires if you are not going to use an
inner tube.
Do not use tools to remove or install a Tubeless
tire, especially steel removable ones. The tool
may damage the bead, compromising the
tightness of the system. If you have difficulty
fitting the tires, use water with a small amount
of soap to make fitting easier.
Never exceed the maximum pressure
recommended by the tire manufacturer.
Never exceed the maximum pressure defined
for a particular tire combination in the
maximum pressure table in this manual.
In hookless wheels, never exceed the maximum
pressure defined for a particular tire size in the
maximum pressure table in this manual. Doing
so could cause the tire to come off the rim
during use and could result in an accident and/
or serious injury.
Never exceed the maximum pressure defined
by the tire manufacturer when attempting to
set a Tubeless tire.
Never use a tire that is damaged or cut, replace
the tire immediately.
OQUO WHEELS
Too low tire pressure can cause premature tire
wear and loss of control, as well as tire damage
caused by impacts.
Do not tighten the nut of Tubeless valves with
any tools, doing so may damage the rim and
the O-ring and may cause air leaks. Tighten the
nut as firmly as possible always by hand.
Regularly check the amount of sealant inside
tubeless tires. Replace immediately tubeless
liquid that shows lumps or has solidified.
If you have had a puncture and have repaired
the tube, install a new tube before your
next ride. A repaired tube can suddenly lose
air, which can cause loss of control and/or
accidents.
RIMS
If you have noticed a bump on the rim during
use, check that the rim is not damaged and
that the seat walls of the tire have not been
deformed. If this causes air leaks or the tire
does not seat properly, replace the rim.
Regularly check for broken or loose spokes.
Wheels with lateral deviation may cause loss
of control resulting in accidents and/or serious
injuries.
Regularly check the condition of the tubeless
tape and replace it if it shows signs of
deterioration.
Regularly check that the sealant liquid does not
cause corrosion on the rim. Damage to the tire
ORBEA | 9
caused by the use of improper sealant is not
covered by the terms of the warranty.
Do not use wheels with disc brake rims on
bicycles with rim brakes.
Avoid exposing carbon wheels to direct
sunlight for long periods of time and to high
temperatures (see Transport section below).
ASSEMBLY
Wheels must always be compatible with the
bicycle on which they are to be used. Check
that the wheel and frame standard is the same
and that the frame is compatible with the tires
to be used.
CASSETTES
Always follow the cassette manufacturer's
installation and torque instructions when you
install the cassette on the freehub body.
During use, the cassette gears may produce
small marks on the freehub body. This is normal
and does not imply a defect in materials or
incorrect assembly.
BRAKES
When mounting brake rotors, always follow
the manufacturer's instructions on the correct
mounting method and tightening torque of the
rotor fixing bolts or nut.
