Measuring the pulse beat based on 30 pulse beats:
Looking for the pulse of the person whose pulse you want to measure.
The easiest place to feel the pulse is 5 cm below the ball of the thumb.
On the pulsometer scale the pulse or heart beat per minute can then be
determined.
Once you have found the pulse is , press button „A" (start) and count the
pulse beats. After the 30th pulse beat press button „A" (stop).
The heart rate is displayed by the chronometer second hand on the pulso-
meter scale. If, for example, the Chronometer second hand has moved to
24 seconds after 30 heartbeats, the pulse rate is 75 beats per minute.
Tachymeter function
The tachymeter is used to estimate speed based on the scale at which an
object moves.
Example:
Measuring speed when driving in a car.
The easiest option for counting is 1000 meters travelled.
Press button „A" (start), then after travelling 1000 meters, press button
„A" again (stop). Follow the course of the tachymeter spiral in the center
of the dial and read off the value the chronometer second hand is at on
the tachymeter spiral. This value corresponds to the average speed you
are driving.
