Contrôle de fonctionnement
·Effectuer le contrôle de fonctionnement de la chape de plancher chauffant conformément aux
dispositions de la norme EN 1264-4. Pour le contrôle de fonctionnement, respecter les délais suivants:
- pour la chape à base de ciment : 21 jours après la pose
- pour la chape à base d'anhydride : 7 jours après la pose
Commencer par une température de refoulement comprise entre 20°C et 25°C et la maintenir inchangée
pendant 3 jours. Programmer alors la température maximale de conception et la maintenir inchangée
pendant 4 jours. Pour le réglage de la température de refoulement, agir sur le générateur de chaleur.
Ouvrir la vanne en tournant le capuchon dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d'une montre ou bien en
positionnant la tête RTL en position 5.
Faire référence aux instructions du constructeur de la chape ! Ne pas dépasser la température maximale
prévue pour la chape en correspondance avec les tubes chauffants :
- chape à base de ciment et anhydride : 55°C
- chape en asphalte coulé : 45°C
- prêter attention aux spécifications du constructeur de la chape !

Recessed solution for the regulation of floor heating circuits or combined floors/radiators.
The TIEMME BOX guarantees the temperature regulation of a single area of the floor or wall
heating installation system even with centralized systems.
The possibility of precisely adjusting the individual utility has as a final result not only the correct
comfort of the rooms but also the reduction of energy and thermal consumption of the installation.
In particular:
TIEMME BOX 2 limits the return temperature of the heating circuit (RTL)

Assembly instructions:
- Connect the TIEMME BOX 2 to the return tube at the end of the integrated heating return circuit
in the floor. Make sure the direction of the flow is correct (Fig. 2 and Fig. 3).
- Position the TIEMME BOX 2 in a manner that the thermostatic head can detect the air
temperature of the room and that it can freely circulate (Fig. 3).
- Place the radiant floor tube in the screed in a spiral manner (Fig. 2).
- The distance between the finished floor and the lower edge of the box under plaster should be
at least 200 mm (Fig. 3).

Insert the box under plaster in the wall groove vertically (width = minimum 145 mm,
depth = minimum 60 mm) and fit it with attachment brackets (Fig. 3).
The distance between the front edge of the box and the finished wall can be between 0 and
30 mm thanks to the variable coverage. The cassette should be aligned following the desired
position under the finished wall:
- establish the thickness of the external wall layer (Fig. 3).
- align the box in the desired position under the finished wall.
- tighten the set screws (7)

Only use TIEMME tightening fittings for the connection.
Instructions for the limiting of the return temperature (RTL)
The thermostatic head will allow to limit the return temperature of the heating circuit in a simple
and intuitive way,

Apply the cover plate onto the box, adjusting it so that it is in a vertical position.
Notes for the project design
·For all Tiemme BOX configurations, make certain that the flow temperature is suitable for the
correct operations of an underfloor heating system. In particular, refer to the norm UNI EN 1264-3
which defines the maximum surface temperatures that a floor can provide depending on the
different uses of the premises. In the case of underfloor heating, the maximum surface temperature
should not exceed 29°C in the habitable areas and 35°C in the perimeter areas.
·All Tiemme BOX models must be connected to the return tube at the very end of the underfloor
heating circuit. Pay attention to the flow direction (see application examples).
·Depending on the pressure drop in the tubes, all Tiemme BOX models are suitable for heating
surfaces up to 20 square meters (200mm pitch, no.1 radiant circuit).
·For each heating circuit, the length of the internal tubes with a diameter of 12 mm (16x2 mm)
must not exceed 100 meters.
·In heating surfaces >20 square meters and/or with tubes with a length of >100 meters, a T-piece
fitting can be used, making certain that the lengths of each of the two circuits are the same in order
to simplify hydraulic self-balancing. It is recommended that the total pressure drop
(collector + Tiemme box) does not exceed the indicative value of 25kPa or by the value defined
by the thermal engineer who is responsible for the project design.
·To ensure a silent operation of the installation, make certain that the differential pressure does
not exceed 0.2 bar.
·The underfloor heating tube should be placed inside the screed, in the spiral position (see
application examples).
·The preset nominal value of the limiter must not fall below room temperature - otherwise, the
valve will not open.
Heat transfer fluid
·To avoid damaging the hot water heating installation and the formation of encrustations, the
composition of the heat transfer fluid must comply with the specifications of the VDI 2035 directive.
In the case of industrial and district heating installations, the provisions of the technical
specifications (VdTUV 1466 / AGFW FW FW 510) apply. Mineral oils or lubricants based on
mineral oils contained in the heat transfer fluid can cause problems of intense swelling with
consequent damage to the EPDM seals. When using antifreeze and anti-rust products containing
ethylene glycol, but without nitrites, attention must be given to the indications provided in the
manufacturer's documentation, in particular, those concerning the concentration and specific

additives.
Functional testing
·Carry out functional testing of the heating screed in accordance with the provisions of the
EN 1264-4 norm. For the carrying out of the functional test, the following time periods should be
respected:
- for the screed based on cement: 21 days after laying
- for the screed based on anhydride: 7 days after laying
Start with a flow temperature between 20°C and 25°C and keep it unchanged for 3 days. Then
set the maximum project design temperature and keep it unchanged for 4 days. To adjust the flow
temperature, regulate the heat generator. Open the valve by turning the cap counterclockwise or
turn the RTL head to position #5.
Refer to the instructions of the screed manufacturer! Do not exceed the maximum temperature
required for the screed at the heating tubes:
- screed based on cement and anhydride: 55°C
- screed based on cast asphalt: 45°C
- pay attention to the specifications from the screed manufacturer!
