Position the file at the level of the top
plate.
Pull the file along the cutting edge. An-
gle: 30 degree.
NOTICE
Only work at a 30 degree angle. At an angle
of more than 30 degree, the chain becomes
too sharp and wears faster. At an angle of
less than 30 degree the chain remains dull.

Place the filing gauge onto the saw-
tooth.
Refile the depth limiter with a flat file.

Filing gauges and saw chain files are avail-
able in specialist shops.
Installing the guide bar and saw chain
Place the saw chain onto the guide bar.
NOTICE
Upon placement, ensure that the running
surface of the sawteeth is correctly placed
in the guide bar.
Observe the rotation direction arrow
upon applying the saw chain.
NOTICE
If the saw chain was applied opposite to the
rotation direction, turn the guide bar
around. A drilled hole for the drive pin is
present at the top and bottom.
Place the saw chain onto the chain
wheel.
Place the guide bar onto the guide rails
and the drive pin.
Replace cover.
Tighten nut firmly.
