Apply kerf.
Determine holding band - at least 1/8 of
the stem diameter.
Give a warning sign (call or signal) prior
to the felling cut!

DANGER
Mortal danger on account of cut! Always
apply the saw chain guide bar with the bot-
tom side of the guide bar tip upon the inser-
tion. Never insert with the upper side - risk
of kick-back!
Apply felling cut, for this purpose, insert
at least 3 cm above the bottom cut of
the kerf.
Extend the insertion up to the hinge.
Take the felling cut to the holding band.
Do not cut the holding band!
DANGER
Mortal danger on account of falling tree!
Leave an adequate holding band.
Step in the safe route of withdrawal at
the side of the stem.
Give a warning sign (call or signal) prior
to cutting the retaining strap!

Cut the retaining strap diagonally from
top to bottom.
Trigger the chain brake and quickly
move away from the falling tree via the
safe route of withdrawal.
Debranching
DANGER
Mortal danger on account of kick-back!
During debranching, ensure that the guide
bar / saw chain is not jammed.
Debranch in the direction of growth - not
against it.
Debranch from top to bottom.
Free the work area from cut off branch-
es at regular intervals.
WARNING
Risk of injury! The stem can move during
debranching due to the changing weight
distribution. Chose the work area in a way
that there is no imperilment.
