FITTING
1. Open rear doors to expose spare wheel bolt. Slacken bolt to lower spare wheel and remove.
2. To drill the mounting points use side arms as templates. Butt side arm (D) up to the inner chassis rail at the rear and top
of profile (see figure 2). Where there is contact remove underseal away to ensure good contact. Holding square, mark
centre of slots for drilling.
3. For improved access remove 3 bolts from spare wheel pulley mechanism and hold away.
4. Drill from inside of the chassis rail using a drill diameter of 11 mm. Enlarge only the outside chassis rail to 20 mm. On the
arch lining cut enough for a 40 mm washer to pass though to the outside chassis rail.
5. Place bushes (B) with bolts (F) and (G) though the chassis rail. Fit side arm (D) and over lap new exhaust hanger (C),
loosely tighten.
6. Carry out same process for side arm (E), unclip blue fuel pipe, use side arm (E) as template, mark chassis and drill as
step 3.
7. Fit bushes (B) with bolts (F) through chassis rail and fit side arm (E). Reattach fuel pipe with cable tie supplied if required.
8. Lower the exhaust by removing the rear bush from vehicle. Unscrew lower edge bumper screws.
9. Fit main cross bar (A) over the exhaust to side arms (D) and (E) using fixings (H).
10. Using bracket (C) rotate to meet the exhaust bush ensuring adequate clearance between the cross bar to the top of the
exhaust outlet. Approximately 30 mm from its original position. Thread fixing (J) through the top hole of bush to bracket
(C). Tighten bolts (G) and (J) to hold in position. Continue to tighten bolts (F) to correct torque followed by bolts (H)
ensuring main cross bar is at its maximum height for tow ball.
11. Refit bumper screws.
Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z11) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball dimensionally
Conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M10 - 53 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm
