FITTING
Notes:
Due to the configuration of parts leave all bolts loose until final tightening Sequence.
It is recommended that thread lock be used on bolt threads where a captive nut is used.
1.) Fit Left hand (D) and right hand (E) side arms using M12 bolts (K) to the chassis rails. Keep loose and rest side arm ends
on the leaf spring swivel arms for easy fitment later on.
2.) Before fitting cross bar to main panel insert M12 cage nuts into both ends of cross bar (A) as shown in the diagram.
3.) Fit main cross bar to the back panel by using bolts (L) ensuring enough movement is kept from side to side. In addition use
bolts (H) to complete the cross bar fixing, ensuring threads are in a rearward direction as shown.
4.) Rotate upwards side arms (D) and (E) to cross bar (A) and use the bolts (M) to align. Once supported fit bolts with
washers and nuts .Leave loose.
5.) Remove the most rearward square rubbers from underneath of chassis rails on both sides.
6.) Fit chassis sliders (J). Important: These must be placed into the chassis with nut going in first. Then slide back so the hole
is in the centre of the Square chassis hole. Ensure threads are clean to aid fitment.
7.) Using bracket (F) on the left side, place bolt (P) through the single hole and screw into slider (J). Note: Use threads lock.
8.) Once satisfied add additional bolts (O) to the brackets bolting through side arm (D)
9.) Use the same procedure with side arm (G), but additional bush (B) must be used to miss the towing eye. Use bolt (R) for
extra length. Add additional bolts (O) to the side holes bolting though Side arms (E & G).
10.) Tighten M8 & M10 bolts on cross bar, followed by chassis side arms (D) and (E). Note bolt (K) to be tightened to 80N/m
11.) Tighten remaining bolts to recommended torque settings.
Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z11) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball dimensionally
conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M8 - 27Nm, M10 - 53 Nm, M12 - 95 Nm, M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm, M12 (10.9) –
139 Nm
