Use
Aiming the flame detector
The flame detector should be aimed toward the center of the
detection zone and have an unobstructed view of the
protected area.
Whenever possible, the flame detector face should be tilted
down at a 45º angle to maximize coverage and prevent
accumulation of dust and dirt.
Do not start an installation unless all conceivable considera-
tions regarding detection location have been taken into ac-
count.
Using flame detectors with EOL resistor
Flame detectors with EOL resistor can be used in systems where
the flame detectors are connected as 4-wire connection to the
control unit through fault and alarm relay. The resistor will be
connected between terminal 5 and 6 of the flame detector. A
corresponding label will be glued in the back cover of the detector.

3.2
Do not repair or modify the flamepaths of the flame detector.
The unit may be painted or fitted with optional accessories. Some
of these parts are made of a non-metallic material or have a non-
metallic coating which could potentially generate an ignition-
capable level of electrostatic charge under certain extreme
conditions (such as high-pressure steam). Do not damage the
coating and clean the equipment with a damp cloth only to prevent
a build-up of electrostatic charges on the non-conducting surfaces.
The 3 fastening screws used to secure the cover of the flameproof
compartment have a yield stress of 344 N/mm². Any replacement
fasteners shall have a yield stress of at least this value.
