4. Controls and connections
A. MICROPHONE SECTION
1. DJ/MIC INPUT (3-pin XLR socket input):
Microphones can be plugged into the XLR 3-pin connectors and combo jack connectors. The XLR input is
designed for gooseneck microphones (ex: XBM/C)
Balanced input wiring: pin 1 – ground (sleeve) ; pin 2 – positive ; pin 3 – negative
2. TONE CONTROL (HIGH, MID, LOW):
These three rotary level controls adjust the High, Mid and
Low frequencies of the DJ signal (+/-15dB).
3. AUX Send 1 FADER:
This auxiliary send control can be used to control the mix
of inputs being processed by effects etc.
4. AUX Send 2 FADER:
This auxiliary send control can be used to control the mix
of inputs being processed by effects etc.
5. CUE switch:
This switch allows pre-fade listen of input signals through
headphones and LED meters. This is especially useful
while setting gains.
6. PAN control:
The PAN control sends continuously variable amounts of
the post-fader signal to the left and right main buses. In
the centre position, equal amounts of signal are sent to
the left and right buses. As the control is rotated in either
direction, more signal is sent to the bus indicated in the
direction of the rotation while less signal is sent to the
other bus. If the control is turned all the way to one side,
the complete signal is sent to that side.
7. PEAK LED:
The PEAK LED warns for channel overload, which could
cause audible distortion. Reduce channel output volume
to mixer's input until the PEAK LED lights only
occasionally during the loudest moments in the material
playing.
8. SLIDE VOLUME CONTROL:
This control varies the overall level of an individual
channel in the main output mix.
9. TALKOVER SWITCH:
When the TALKOVER SWITCH is set to the ON position,
the volume of all sources except DJ MIC is reduced.
When the TALKOVER is on the auto position and the DJ
speaks through one of the microphones, all signals
except the DJ MIC are attenuated 20dB so that the DJ's
announcement can be clearly heard.
10. TALK LEVEL:
Controls the attenuation of the other signals when talkover is activated.
11. HOLD TIME SWITCH FOR TALKOVER:
Determines how fast the music fades.
