1. General information
Read the instruction carefully. The product should be fitted by a medical professional
like an occupational therapist, physical therapist, orthopedic technician or a medical
doctor. Patients with diabetes, circulatory problems or sensitive skin should consult their
doctor before use. If the patient is allergic, check the material content on the textile label.
2. Indications
The product has been designed to provide support to the shoulder joint after
neurological disorders, stroke or mild to moderate anterior shoulder subluxations.
3. Contraindications
Patients who haven't received a correct diagnosis from a doctor should consult one before
use of the brace. The brace will not prevent severe dislocations of the shoulder joint.
4. Pre Application
To select the right size, take the circumference measurement around the mid upper
arm. Use the measurement chart to determine the most suitable size. The brace is fitted
with a shoulder strap (A) to provide more abduction support, two elastic hook straps (B)
that can be used for additional reinforcement and facilitation of selected muscle groups
as well as an extender part (C) for the chest strap. On the front part of the brace there
are two pockets with flexible steel splints. They can be adjusted individually to prevent
pressure over the clavicle bone. Remove them from the pocket and bend them by
hand. The inside of the brace is fitted with a friction pattern to increase proprioception.
5. Application
A t-shirt should be worn under the brace. Open all the hook closures on the brace.
Slide the arm sleeve up over the arm and position the brace so that the highest part
rests on the trapezius muscle. Close the hook parts on the arm and make sure that the
textile tongue protects the skin from the hook closures. Don't over tighten the closures
as it might disturb circulation. Grab the chest strap and extend it to retract the shoulder
posteriorly. Run the strap under the arm pit and attach the strap on the front part of the
brace. If the strap is too short, apply the extender to the hook part.
6. Additional abduction support
The shoulder strap (A) can be used to provide more abduction support. Attach one of
the hook parts to the loop area on the chest strap on the opposite shoulder. Stretch the
strap and apply it over the trapezius, running below C7 over the cervical area and over
to the other side. For more abduction support, apply the other hook part on the lateral
part of the arm sleeve. For more posterior retraction of the shoulder, apply the hook part
over the anterior side of the arm sleeve.
7. Muscle facilitation
The elastic hook straps can be used to facilitate muscles like Supraspinatus,
Infraspinatus or the Deltoid. For the best effect, attach one end of the elastic hook over
