8. BATTERY OPERATION

The weighing indicator can be operated from the battery if desired. The battery life is approsimately 50 hours.
When the battery needs charging a symbol on the weight display will turn on. The battery should be charged when the symbol is on. The scale will still
operate for about 10 hours after which it will automatically switch off to protect the battery.
To charge the battery simply plug into the mains power. The scale does not need to be turned on.
The battery should be charged for 12 hours for full capacity.
Just under the quantity display is an LED to indicate the status of battery charging. When the scale is plugged into the mains power the internal battery
will be charged. If the LED is green the battery has a full charge. If it is Red the battery is nearly discharged and yellow indicates the battery is being
charged.
As the battery is used it may fail to hold a full charge. If the battery life becomes unacceptable then contact your distributor.
!
Some batteries have a better performance after several full charge/discharge cycles. Battery performance depends on many factors, including its
backlight settings and the operational.
Never use a charger or a battery that is damaged.
Do not make a short-circuit in the battery. You can produce a short-circuit accidentally when a metal object (coin, clip or pen) causes a
direct connection of the + and - poles of the battery (metal strips of the battery), for example when you take a spare battery in your pocket.
Make a short-circuit the poles may damage the battery or the object that connects.
Don't dispose of batteries in a fire.
Pull the batteries following the local regulations (for example, recycling).
Do not pull the batteries as household waste.
Avoid charging the battery in conditions of lack of air. In order to maximize the performance of your battery: always use batteries and AC adap-
ter originals. The warranty of the viewer does not cover any damage caused as a result of the use of other batteries and/or differents chargers.
The output voltage of the AC adapter is 9V, but the range of normal voltage oscillates between 11V and 15V.
New batteries or those batteries that have been stored for long periods of time may require a greater time to load.
Keep the battery at room temperature or reasonable temperature while the battery is being charged next when loading. Do not expose batteries
to temperatures below -10 °C or above 45 °C.
In the course of long periods of time, the batteries progressively lose charging capacity and require charging times longer. This is normal.
If you charge the battery regularly, and notes the operating period that decreases or the charging period that increases, it is probably time to
purchase a new battery.
Note: New batteries are partially charged. Before you can use your balance, you must install
and charge the battery using the following instructions.
