1. Product description
This live trap is suitable for catching martens, raccoons, rabbits, cats or even
rats. Construct the trap and place the bait in it. We recommend foods that are
high in protein e.g. chicken, egg, fish or also berries and greens can be used
to attract martens. If the marten enters the trap to get the bait over the set
plate, the door closes and the marten is trapped. Now you can pick up the trap
carefully and release the marten into the wild at a distance of at least 25 km
in unfamiliar territory.
Dimensions: 66 x 25 x 25 cm
Before using the marten live trap, please observe and follow the animal
welfare and species protection laws! Observe national and international le-
gal regulations (e.g. the hunting law)!
• Martens are subject to hunting laws. Therefore authorisation is required for
catching martens. This is issued by the lower hunting authority.
• When catching martens, the closed seasons must be observed. Martens
may not be caught from 1st March until 15th October.
• Martens are not an endangered species. However, it is only permitted to
capture them alive in Germany. Let the marten free at least 25 km away,
otherwise there is a risk that it will find its way back using its sense of
smell.
2. Setting up the trap
1. The trap arrives folded together in the parcel. To set up the trap, release any
points that have been secured using cable ties or similar.
2. To keep you safe from the animals in the trap, metal plate is attached under
the handles (A). Only carried the trap by lifting it by the handles and close
the back door (B) of the trap. Unlike the front door, the back door does not
have any spring mechanism.
3. Secure the door with the retaining clips (C).
4. Thread the U-shaped arm (D) at the top of the cage down to the holding
clamps (E) on the side of the cage. The trap will then be stable when the
doors opened to let the animals escape.
5. Insert the longer end of the release arm (F) into the holders provided in the
release plate. Insert the shorter end (G) into the hole in the door holding
hook. Fix the arm with the key ring on the side of the cage.
