FITTING
Refer to Fig 1. for steps 1-6 and Fig 2. for steps 7-9
1.
Lower Spare Wheel and remove the 4 bolts (2 on some models) securing the bumper arm(s) to vehicle
chassis. Using Sidearms (C) and (D) as a guide, mark off position for upper mountings (F). At marked
positions drill through chassis dia 13mm. Open up inner face to allow Bush (H) to be inserted.
2.
Insert Bolts (F) with flat washers from outside face into drilled holes, insert Bushes (H) into enlarged holes,
ensuring Bolts (F) stay in place thus preventing them falling into chassis. Insert forward lower Bolts (F) through
existing holes in chassis, ensure flat washers are fitted on both faces of chassis (inner washer is used as
spacer). Loosely attach Sidearms (C) and (D) to Bolts (F) taking care not to push bolts out.
3.
Insert captive nut straps (G) into oval holes in rear panel and loosely attach Central Cleats (E) using Bolts (K) and Flat
Washers.
4.
Loosely attach Crossbar (A) to Sidearms (C), (D) and Central Cleats (E) using Bolts (J).
5.
Fully tighten all bolts - Crossbar (A) should be pushed upwards to ensure faceplate is vertical.
6.
Refit spare wheel. (This can be done after step is fitted but it will take longer)
7.
Remove step from box
8.
Position step over Towbar Mainframe (A) and loosely secure using Bolts (L) and Angle Cleats (N) as shown
below. Check alignment with bumper and fully tighten all bolts.
9.
Fit Bolt Caps (BC) over visible bolt heads, Fit Plastic Bungs (M) as shown below.
