(Magnum Bolt Action)
• When the glue dries, Square the end of
each blank. Use a Barrel trimmer with 10mm
shaft or a universal pen blank squaring jig
with a power disc sander. Take the wood
down to the brass tube. Do not trim beyond
the length of the tube since this may
interfere with operation of the mechanism
and assembly. Use the barrel trimmer shaft
to clean the inside of the tube.

Turning The Blanks
• Mount the bushings and blank according to
Diagram B.
• Thread on the knurled nut and hand tighten
to hold all components in place.
• Slide the tailstock up snugly against the
mandrel shaft inserting the live center point
into the mandrel dimple, lock in place.
• Hand tighten the quill adjustment to firm
up the mandrel. (DO NOT overtighten, it
could damage the mandrel.
• Using sharp tools, turn the blank down
close to the bushing diameter. Turn the
barrel (straight or to a profile of your choice)
• Sand the blank down to be flush with the
bushings gradually increasing the sandpaper
grits.
• Finish the barrel with your choice of polish.
Allow sufficient time for the polish to cure. -
refer to polish instructions.
Assembly
• Position the bolt either in Position A or
Position B. (Delivered in position A)
• Position A - Check to see if bolt is tightly in
place. To tighten see Note 1
• Position B - Reverse the direction of the
bolt. See Note 1 on loosening / tightening the
bolt.
• Lorsque la colle est sèche, équarrissez les extrémités du
carrelet à l'aide d'un calibreur pour stylo muni d'une tige de
10 mm ou d'un gabarit universel pour carrelets de stylos et
d'une ponceuse à disque. Taillez le bois jusqu'au tube en
laiton. Ne pas tailler au-delà de la longueur du tube, car cela
risque de nuire au fonctionnement du mécanisme et à
l'assemblage. Nettoyez l'intérieur du tube à l'aide de la tige du
calibreur.

Tournage du carrelet
• Installez les bagues et le carrelet comme l'illustre le
diagramme B.
• Vissez l'écrou moleté et serrez-le à la main de façon à tenir
toutes les pièces en place.
• Glissez la poupée mobile et appuyez-la fermement contre la
tige du mandrin en insérant la pointe vive dans la cavité au
bout du mandrin; verrouillez.
• Serrez à la main le réglage du fourreau pour stabiliser le
mandrin. NE PAS serrer avec trop de force, car cela pourrait
endommager le mandrin.
• À l'aide d'outils affûtés, tournez le carrelet jusqu'à ce que son
diamètre approche de celui des bagues. Vous pouvez lui
donner une forme droite ou la silhouette de votre choix.
• Poncez le carrelet jusqu'à égalité avec les bagues en
augmentant progressivement le grain du papier sablé.
• Appliquez le produit de polissage de votre choix sur le barillet
et laissez sécher. Veuillez consulter les instructions de
polissage.
Assemblage
• Mettez le verrou en position A ou B (à la livraison, il se trouve
à la position A).
• Position A – Vérifiez si le verrou est solidement en place.
Pour serrer, consultez la remarque 1.
• Position B – Inversez l'orientation du verrou. Pour desserrer
ou serrer le verrou, consultez la remarque 1.
