Service programmes
At certain intervals, depending on how the
appliance is used, the display will show one
of the following texts instead of the coffee
selection:
Service -
change filter
P - button 3 sec.
Service -
clean
P - button 3 sec.
Service -
descale
P - button 3 sec.
Service -
Calc'n'Clean
P - button 3 sec.
Then the water fi lter should be changed
immediately or the appliance cleaned
or descaled using the corresponding
programme (described on the next pages).
Otherwise the appliance may be damaged.
The service programmes can also
be started manually in the settings
menu (see "Displaying settings").
Bosch
Do not drink the liquids. Never use vinegar,
vinegar-based products, citric acid or citric
acid-based products for descaling. For
cleaning and descaling use only the tab-
lets included with the appliance. They were
specially developed for this fully automatic
espresso machine, and replacements are
available from retailers or customer service
(see "Accessories").
Never put descaling tablets or any other
descaling agents in the drawer for ground
coffee/cleaning tablets.
Important: If there is a fi lter in the water
tank (14), it needs to be removed before the
service programme is run.
Never interrupt the service programme.
If one of the service programmes is inter-
rupted, e.g. by a power outage, proceed as
follows:
Rinse the water tank (14) and refi ll it with
