Edit Compatible

For DVD+RW discs, this function needs to be
performed in order to view edited chapters or titles
on a standard DVD player.
1 With the unit in Stop mode, press the MENU button
on the remote control.
Press the ...† buttons to select Disc Manager, and

then press the ENTER or √ button.
Press the ...† buttons to select Edit Compatible,

and then press the ENTER or √ button.

The Edit Compatible process will start.
After performing Edit Compatible, you can move
to the title menu of the disc by pressing the Title
MENU button.

Finalizing a Disc

After you record titles onto a DVD-RW/DVD-R disc with
your DVD recorder, it needs to be finalized before it can
be played back on external devices.
1 With the unit in Stop mode, press the MENU button
on the remote control.
Press the ...† buttons to select Disc Manager, and

then press the ENTER or √ button.
Press the ...† buttons to select Disc Finalize, and

then press the ENTER or √ button.
4 Press the œ √ buttons to select Yes, and then press
the ENTER button.
You will be prompted again with the message "Disc
will be finalized. Do you want to continue?".
5 Press the œ √ buttons to select Yes, and then press
the ENTER button. The disc is finalized.
Once a disc is finalized, you cannot delete
s
entries from the record list.
NOTE
Once a DVD±R/DVD-RW (video mode)disc
s
is finalized, it is playable in a standard DVD
player.
Depending on disc type, the displayed
s
screen may appear slightly different.
Finalizing time may be different depending
s
on the amount of data recorded on the disc.
Data on the disc will be damaged if the
s
recorder is powered off during finalizing
process.
You can finalize automatically using EZ REC
s
MODE.(See page 47)
