THROTTLE CABLE
Check the throttle cable play. The throttle lever play
should be 3.0–5.0 mm (0.12–0.20 in) at the throttle
lever end. If adjustment is necessary, carry out the
procedure below:
Throttle cable play: 3.0–5.0 mm (0.12–0.20 in)
1. Loosen the throttle cable adjuster lock nut B.
2. Turn the adjuster A to obtain 3.0–5.0 mm (0.12–
0.20 in) of free play.
3. Tighten the lock nut B while holding the adjuster
A. Place the rubber boot C.
"
After the adjustment is completed, check that
handlebar movement does not raise the
engine idle speed and that the throttle grip
returns smoothly and automatically.
CHOKE CABLE
Check that there is approximately 0.5–1.0 mm (0.02–
0.04 in) free play in the choke cable.
Choke cable play: 0.5–1.0 mm (0.02–0.04 in)
If the cable needs adjusting, use the following proce-
dure.
1. Loosen the lock nut B and turn the adjuster A to
obtain approximately 0.5–1.0 mm (0.02–0.04 in)
free play in the choke cable.
2. Move the cable back and forth firmly to ensure that
the correct amount of free play is available and that
the cable housing is properly seated in the adjuster
A.
3. Tighten the lock nut B, and set the rubber boot C
to correct position.
REAR/PARKING BRAKE
Adjust the rear brake by adjusting the brake pedal
first and then adjust the brake lever.
"
The rear brake lever and rear brake pedal oper-
ate the rear brake in a complementary manner.
When one of these is misadjusted, the brake
system as a whole will not operate properly.
This could cause brake dragging or inade-
quate braking performance. Be sure to adjust
both the brake pedal and brake lever within the
specified ranges.
