PAIRING THE SIREN WITH THE M8299 ALARM CONTROL UNIT
Step 1: check that the alarm control unit M8299 is properly wired.
Step 2: after having wired the siren, insert the connector in the WFR2 and, after a few seconds,
press the bonnet button 5 times or, if this is missing, give 5 GND pulses to the purple wire of the
siren. (ATTENTION! Perform the operation within the fi rst 60sec.); the self-learning setup step is
confi rmed by the audible warning Bip-Boop-Bip-Boop.
Step 3: Within 3 minutes, insert the connector in the alarm control unit M8299. The LED will fl ash
quickly and after a few seconds the siren will sound the audible warning Bip-Beep-Bip-Beep
confi rming that the coupling was successful.
Step 4: Finish the procedure by activating the dashboard of the car or wait 60 seconds after which the
procedure completes automatically.
NOTE: if the bonnet button is not installed, insulate the purple wire to avoid false contacts.
When installation is complete, perform the following operations:
1) Ensure that the car keys are not inside the vehicle.
2) Open the window on the driver's side and close the doors, the bonnet and the boot.
3) Switch on the alarm control unit with the radio remote control, wait for a beep from the siren to
confi rm that anti-jamming is working, and perform the following tests during the 25 seconds arm
delay:
3a) During the initial 25 seconds of immunity simulate an alarm by opening and closing a door
or one of the bonnets; the arrows will fl ash and an audible signal will sound with each simulated
entry, and then the initial 25 seconds of immunity will start back up again.
3b) Ultrasound test: place a hand inside the window and move it horizontally, in relation to the
plane of the vehicle. The arrows will fl ash and an audible signal will sound, confi rming reception
of the alarm stimulus.
3c) When the initial immunity has elapsed, opening the doors or the bonnet will trigger a 25-second
alarm cycle, which can be delayed by a few seconds for the bonnet. If any doors or bonnet are left
open during the alarm cycle, the alarm cycle will repeat for a maximum of 9 times. During the alarm
cycle, check the alarm functions (siren, audible signal, fl ashing direction indicators and led lights).
3d) Emergency deactivation test: Turn the burglar alarm on and check the fl ashing led, then turn
the ignition key to ON and keep it there for at least 5 seconds, after which the system will switch off .
N.B. The employed key must be fi tted with an original transponder for the vehicle.
4) Open door signals when switched on: If one or more doors, boot or engine bonnet happen to be
open when the alarm is switched on, the relative peripheral protection will be temporarily excluded
and the audible Beep-Beep-Beep-Beep signal will sound.
5) Disable volumetric and auxiliary protection: activate the vehicle's dashboard 2 times in
a row, after the siren Beeps 3 times, within the next 20 seconds, turn it on from the radio control.
Quick fl ashing during the immunity time reports the powered-on status with excluded volumetric
protection.
6) Automatic exclusion of volumetric protection to unlock boot with radio control: with the alarm
system on, press the boot unlock button from the radio control to open the boot without making
the system trigger an alarm. When the led fl ashes quickly, this means that the boot, ultrasound and
AUX module (M160) alarms have been temporarily inhibited, while doors and engine bonnet remain
protected. Shortly after closing the boot back up again, the previously inhibited protections switch
back on again and the led goes back to fl ashing slowly.
