When the heat exchanger is used in combination with Alde's
central heating system, the vehicle engine's heating system
is utilized to heat up the motor caravan. The heat exchanger
can also be used the other way round to act as an engine
pre-heater. A separate circulation pump (1) should be fitted
in this case.
Before you fit heat exchanger 2968, you should make inquir-
ies with the motor manufacturer or importer to ensure that
the engine is compatible.

Fitting methods, see fig. 1-4. The heat exchanger should be
fitted so that the heating pipes lead to a higher point, other
wise an air screw must be fitted.
If the heat exchanger is fitted on its side, the larger connec
tion must be at the top (see fig. 4). The heat exchanger must
not be fitted with the connections pointing downwards (see
fig. 5).

n.B. When the heat exchanger is used with fresh water,
the system must be set up acc.to fig. 3 or 4.
Cut the loop of pipe on the heating system where you are
going to fit the heat exchanger. Screw the heat exchanger
into place on the floor or wall using the holder.
nB. If the heat exchanger is placed too close to the central
heating boiler, the overheating protection in the boiler may
be trigged. In this case, a ball valve (fig 6F) for reducing cir
culation should be fitted to the car engine system to reduce
the heat.
ConnECTion
Connect the heat exchanger to the central heating system
and the vehicle's heating system in accordance with fig. 6.
For optimum effect, the connection should be made so that
the liquids the opposite way in the heat exchanger.
The connection to the heating system should be made using
Alde's kit of fittings (fig. 7).
If the kit of fittings is not used, the connection to the central
heating system should be made using a hose of special
rubber and fastened with band clips (art. no. 1900 176). The
connection to the vehicle's heating system should be made
using a hose of special rubber with cord reinforcement and
fastened with hose clips (art. no. 4148 000). As a sealant
between the rubber connections, Permatex Formagasket
no. 3 may be used (art. no. 1900 174).
