TOOLS REQUIRED:
10mm Socket & Ratchet or 10mm Wrench,
12mm Socket & Ratchet or 12mm Wrench,
Philips Head Screwdriver, Test-probe,
Drill (3/32" Drill Bit), Wire Crimpers, Wire,
Cutters, Trim Panel Remover
1. Open the rear tailgate to access the bolts that
hold the taillights in place. Beginning on the
driver's side. Remove two bolts and carefully pry
the taillight housings rearward away from the
vehicle, being careful not to break the alignment
tabs. Repeat on the passenger side. d
2. On the driver and passenger sides of the
vehicle, locate the vehicle's taillight wiring
harness. The taillight wiring harness will have
a connection point, on both sides, matching
the ends of the T-Connector e . Separate this
connector, being careful not to break the locking
tabs. All connector surfaces should be clean and
free of dirt. Set aside all items removed being
careful not to damage parts.
3. Temporarily remove threshold plate by removing
the cargo clips f .
4. Remove the jack storage compartment door on
the passenger side.Using a trim panel remove tool
carefully pull back the interior trim panels on both
Driver's side and Passenger's side gh .
5. On the Driver's side, mount the T-Connector
Black Box using the double-sided tape provided.

6. On the driver's side, attach two (2) sets of
connectors from the T-Connector, one containing
yellow wires and the other containing brown and
red wires, in between the vehicle taillight wiring
harness connectors.
7. Route the connector containing the green wire
down the threshold to the passenger side of the
vehicle, being careful to avoid areas that could
damage wiring. Insert the T-Connector end
with the green wire into the vehicle's taillight
connector and lock into place.
8. Ground the white "ground" wire by placing
the ring terminal under an existing screw
attached to a clean metal surface or by drilling
another 3/32" hole and using one of the self
tapping screws provided.
WARNING
Make sure all other ground connections are secure
when removing and reattaching the ground stud.
9. Disconnect the vehicle's Negative (-) battery cable.
If not removed, remove the fuse from the yellow
fuse holder (provided). After cutting the fuse holder
wire j, attach the ring terminal and secure to the
vehicle's Positive (+) battery cable. Connect the
other end of the fuse holder to the black 12 ga.
wire, using the yellow butt connector (provided). k
10. Either route the black wire thru a grommet
and along the exterior frame or follow the existing
wiring along the thresholds into the engine
compartment up to the battery avoiding areas
that may pinch or break the wire.

11. Connect the other end of the black 12 ga.
wire to the black power wire located on the
T-Connector's black box, using the yellow
butt connector (provided).
12. Reconnect the vehicle's Negative (-) battery cable
and install the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder
from step 9.
WARNING
All connections must be complete for the
T-Connector to function properly. Test and verify
installation with a test light or trailer once installed.
For initial test, reset vehicle electrical system by
temporarily removing the key from the ignition.
13. Secure all loose wires with cable tie provided.
Reinstall taillight assemblies and other items
removed during installation, being careful not to
pinch or cut the wires. Store 4-Flat in jack storage
compartment when not is use. Route 4-flat harness
through rear tailgate/door seal when in use.
WARNING
Overloading circuit can cause fires. DO NOT
exceed lower of towing manufacturer rating or:
• Max. stop/turn light: 2 per side (4.2 amps)
• Max. tail lights: (7.5 amps)
