STEP 32: Right Hand (RH) Torsion Bar Removal: With the special tool securely in place and safety pin engaged , rotate tool downward to
apply tension to the RH torsion bar on the left-hand side of the vehicle (1).
While tensioning the RH torsion bar, move the LH hinge link off the RH torsion bar (2). Then carefully unhook the torsion bar off the LH
hinge bracket by lifting up and then carefully pull towards the rear (See figure from Step 30). Dislodge torsion bar from the top position of
the center bracket clip - in the center of the trunk (not shown).

STEP 33: While still holding the torsion bar tool, support the center of torsion bar with other hand and angle it downward (1). Remove
torsion bar from the anchor bracket by pulling to the left (2). Remove safety pin and remove the tool from the torsion bar. Dispose of the
original torsion bar.
STEP 34: The new accessory torsion bars will have green markings on them. See diagram below for proper engagement of the torsion bar
and the safety pin in the tool. Start with the RH torsion bar. Installation of the new torsion bars is the reverse procedure of removal.
Reinstall trunk mounted seatback release handles (if equipped), trunk trim panels, side spacers and middle trunk subassembly, trunk mat,
Emergency Fuel Door Release Cable, and Emergency Fuel Door Release Cover, trunk hooks, and return rear seat backs to the upright
position and confirm that they are securely engaged.
