7 MAINTENANCE
• Correct machine servicing is necessary with a view to
reliable and safe working.
• Install supports underneath the cutter bar if it is lifted
from the ground, and you intend to carry out work to
the machine.
Accessibility of the cutter bar for maintenance is increased
by removing the foremost safety shield (fig. 19).
Proceed as follows:
- Lift the mower completely
- Remove the two safety shields from the sides
- Dismount the locking springs for removal of the shield.
Maintenance after operations
7.1
- Clean the machine thoroughly. After jet-cleaning allow for
a few moments of rotation of the discs so that the water is
swept away.
- Check the mower knives and discs for tightness and
damage (please refer to chapter 7.3 listed torque).
- Check the safety shields for damage.
- Grease the machine with a rust preventive.
Lubrication
7.2
• PTO shaft to be greased every 8 working hours (8 h) by the
grease nipples on the cross assemblies, protection tubes
and free wheel clutch (fig. 20).
• Double yokes to be greased every 50 working hours (50 h).
• Profiled tubes of the PTO shaft to be greased every 8
working hours.
• Grease the PTO shaft above the drive element every 100
working hours in way of the grease nipples on the cross
assemblies. Remove the three bolts from the hood A (fig.
21) as well as the sealing plate B. Remove ground and/or
crop, if any, from the hat.
• Grease the bearing blocks of the intermediate shaft in the
drawbar every 8 working hours (8 h) (fig. 22).
