5. Adjust bearing housings and spring brackets so that the spindle turns easily, and so that the brush can be
tilted free of the screen at both ends simultaneously with the locking arm being tilted down over the locking
pin.
Now fit the springs. These are stiff and it is advantageous to use a grip locked onto the outer spring eye. Re-
adjustment might be necessary.
6. Since the springs are of a certain strength, the cleaning brushes are supplied complete with a tool for use
when the brushes are to be lifted clear of the screens, e.g. when changing the screens. The tool is designed
to be positioned as shown. By lightly pressing the tool, the brushes can be lifted away from the screens and
locked.
7. When fitting brushes to an older machine, recesses must be cut in the upper flange of the cover to suit
each carrier. The recesses should be about 50 mm wide.
