BASIC TECHNIQUES

TURNING OUTSIDE CORNERS
WITHOUT CUTTING THREADS
1. When you reach the fabric edge, stop stitching with the
needle above the fabric.
2. Raise the presser foot and gently pull on the thread chain
just enough to clear the stitch finger.
3. Turn the fabric, lower the presser foot and begin stitching
in the new direction. Fig. 1.
NOTE : When overlocking and trimming at the same time,
cut the fabric along the new stitching line for about
3 cm, before turning the fabric. Fig. 2.
TURNING CURVED EDGES
For inside curves, guide fabric gently with trimming line of
the fabric under the right front of the presser foot (or a little
to the left), applying pressure at point A in the direction of
the arrow with your left hand, and at the same time applying
a little opposite pressure at point B with your right hand. Fig.
3.
For outside curves place under the presser foot in a similar
manner but applying the pressure in the opposite directions.

To remove stitches already sewn, snip off needle thread(s)
at intervals and pull out looper thread(s).

TECHNIQUES DE BASE
PIQUER UN ANGLE SANS COUPER LES
FILS
1. Lorsque vous arrivez au bord de l'angle, stoppez la
couture avec l'aiguille hors du tissu.
2. Relevez le pied presseur et retirez avec précaution le fil
de chaînette juste de façon à dégager le doigt mailleur.
3. Tourner le tissu, redescendre le pied presseur et coudre
dans la nouvelle direction (Fig.1).
NOTE : Lorsque l'on coud et coupe en même temps,
couper le tissu sur 3 cm le long du bord de la
nouvelle direction, ce, avant de
tissu.(Fig.2).
COUTURE DES ANGLES ARRONDIS
Lorsque l'angle est arrondi vers l'intérieur, doucement guider
le tissu en plaçant celui-ci avec la ligne de coupe en
dessous de la partie droite du pied presseur (ou légèrement
vers la gauche), pendant que, de la main gauche vous
pressez au point A en direction de la flèche, et en même
temps, vous opposez légèrement la main droite au point B
(Fig.3).
Si l'angle s'arrondit vers l'extérieur, effectuer la même
opération mais dans le sens opposé (Fig.4).

DECOUDRE UNE COUTURE

Pour découdre les fils déjà cousus, coupez le(s) fil(s)
d'aiguille(s) par intervalle, en retirant les fils des boucleurs.
La chaînette se défait alors.
