Grinding

CAUTION
Risk of injury! Touching a moving abrasive belt can lead to painful skin abrasion and cut injuries.
▶ Do not touch the moving abrasive belt.
CAUTION
Risk of injury! Grinding makes the workpiece hot.
▶ Do not attempt to touch the workpiece immediately after grinding and always wear suitable protective
gloves to prevent burns. Keep everyone clear of your work zone.
Before grinding, always check that the abrasive belt is centered on and in full contact with the rollers.
Never force the abrasive belt at an angle to the direction of travel.
1. Lift the pipe belt grinder clear of the work surface.
2. Switch the tool on. → page 18

3. Set the belt speed. → page 18
4. Bring the pipe belt grinder with the abrasive belt into contact with the workpiece. Grinding takes place
between rollers A and B.
5. The arc of contact and the rate of abrasion can be influenced by varying the contact pressure.
➥ The smaller the pipe diameter, the larger the possible arc of contact.

Switching off

▶ Press the rear section of the on/off switch.
➥ The on/off switch jumps into the off position and the motor stops.

Sealing
Hilti recommends sealing finished surfaces with a protective spray.

Care and maintenance

WARNING

▶ Always remove the battery before carrying out care and maintenance tasks!
Care and maintenance of the tool
Carefully remove any dirt that may be adhering to parts.
Remove the dust filter and clean it and the air vents carefully, using a dry brush.
Use only a slightly damp cloth to clean the casing. Do not use cleaning agents containing silicone as
these can attack the plastic parts.
Care of the lithium­ion batteries
Keep the battery free from oil and grease.

Avoid ingress of moisture.
Maintenance
Check all visible parts and controls for signs of damage at regular intervals and make sure that they all
function correctly.
Do not operate the product if signs of damage are found or if parts malfunction. Have it repaired
immediately by Hilti Service.
After cleaning and maintenance, fit all guards or protective devices and check that they function correctly.
