This system allows immediate, simple, clean and comfortable use of your machine.
n Fill the water tank and turn the machine on (fig. 1, 2, 3 and 4). During the pre-heating phase, the
indicator lamp will flash.
n Tear the excess paper off the pod, put the E.S.E. pod in the filter holder, with the red writing facing
down (fig.6).
Be sure to place all the paper inside the filter holder, otherwise there might be leaks.
n If the pod is not positioned correctly, the result in the cup will not be satisfactory.
n Never use two pods together.
n Then, follow steps of pictures 7 to 11.
WITH A SOFT POD
Your machine is also compatible with soft pods (usually 60 mm in diameter). Given that this
kind of pod is not specifically designed for espresso machines, you will get a less full-bodied
espresso than with an E.S.E. pod.
n Fill the water tank and turn the machine on (fig. 1, 2, 3 and 4). During the pre-heating phase, the
indicator lamp will flash.
n Place a soft pod in the filter holder. Never use two pods together. If the pod is not positioned correctly,
the result in the cup will not be satisfactory.
n Then, follow steps of pictures 7 to 11.
7. EASY CAPPUCCINO FUNCTION
This function enables cappuccinos to be made only with powdered milk. We recommend the use of semi-
skimmed powdered milk for a fine cream and smoothy froth. The recommended recipe for a cappuccino
corresponds to 6.5 g of semi-skimmed powdered milk (or the amount in the spoon, up to the indicated
level), for an operation of approximately 10 seconds. You will thereby obtain approximately 60 ml of frothy
milk.
n Ensure that the drip-collection tray is correctly fitted.
n Remove the Easy Cappuccino accessory from the appliance by pulling it towards the right (fig. 12).
Open it up and take out the measuring spoon (fig. 13).
n Pour the powdered milk into the spoon up to the indicated level (fig. 14). Return the spoon to its
compartment inside the accessory then close the lid.
n Insert the accessory in the machine, then place your cup just below (fig. 15-16).
n Turn the selector switch to the « pre-heating » position (fig. 17). The pump commences and water will
pour into the drip-collection tray. This is completely normal.
n Once the luminous indicator has been pressed, turn the selector switch to the « frothy milk » position
(fig. 18). The frothy milk flows out. After 10 seconds, depending upon the creaminess and on the
amount of milk required, turn the selector switch to the 0 position to stop the flow (fig. 19).
n Wait a few seconds until the flow of froth ceases, then move the cup under the filter holder. Begin the
preparation of an espresso (fig. 20). Your cappuccino is now ready for tasting.

8. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

n Do not wash your espresso machine accessories in the dishwasher.
CLEANING OF THE APPLIANCE
n Unplug the power supply before cleaning and let the appliance cool down.
n Clean the outside of the appliance from time to time with a damp cloth. After use, the water tank must
be emptied.
n Rinse inside the tank regularly.
