n It is not intended to be used in the following applications, and the
guarantee will not apply for:
- Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- Farm houses;
- By clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- Bed and breakfast type environments.
n This appliance may be used by children of at least 8 years of age, as long
as they are supervised and have been given instructions about using the
appliance safely and are fully aware of the dangers involved. Cleaning
and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older
than 8 and they are supervised by an adult.
n Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children under 8 years of
age.
n This appliance may be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or whose experience or knowledge is not
sufficient, provided they are supervised or have received instruction to
use the appliance safely and understand the dangers.
n Children should not use the appliance as a toy.
n Only use an earthed socket to plug the machine in. Check that the power voltage indicated on the
nameplate of the appliance corresponds to that of your mains installation.
n Any connection error will invalidate your guarantee.
n Given the diverse standards in effect, if the appliance is used in a country other than that in which it is
purchased, have it checked by an Approved Service Centre.
n Do not use an extension lead. If you accept liability for doing so, only use an extension lead which is in
good condition, has a plug with an earth connection and is suited to the power rating of the appliance.
n Do not use the appliance if it is not working properly or if it has been damaged. If this occurs, contact
an authorised service centre.
n For your safety, this appliance conforms with applicable standards and regulations (Directives on low
voltage, electromagnetic compatibility, materials in contact with foodstuffs, environment, etc.)
n Do not remove the filter holder containing the ground coffee while the water is going through, because
the appliance is under pressure at that time.
n Make sure the filter holder is tightly fitted before running the coffee through.
n Do not use if the drip tray and the grid are not in place.
n Unplug the appliance when you have finished using it and when you clean it.
n Remove the plug if a problem occurs during operation or before you clean the appliance.
n Do not pull on the cord to unplug the appliance.
n The power cord must never be close to or in contact with the hot parts of your appliance, near a source
of heat or over a sharp edge.
n Ensure that the cord and your hands do not touch the hot parts of the appliance (cup warming plate,
filter holder, steam nozzle).
n Refer to the instructions for descaling your appliance.
