ated without a controller, either as an individual unit
or interconnected with several RGBL-112DMX
units in the master / slave mode.
4 Mounting
As the LEDs are arranged in several separate
blocks for the three primary colours, the mixed
colours only become visible when the unit is illumi-
nating a surface. The minimum distance to the illu-
minated surface should be 50 cm.
1) Fix the mounting brackets (2) with the knob
screws (1) at the two sides of the light effect
panel (
figs. 1 and 2).
2) Mount the panel via the brackets to a wall or ceil-
ing. At option, it can also be fastened – with suit-
able mounting material – via the brackets to a
cross bar.
3) To align the unit, slightly release the knob
screws, adjust the desired inclination of the
panel and retighten the screws.
WARNING The light effect panel must be
mounted in a safe and expert way. If
it is installed at a place where people
may walk or sit under it, it must addi-
tionally be secured [e. g. by a safety
rope; lead the safety rope through
the safety lug (12) and fix it so that
the maximum falling distance of the
unit would not exceed 20 cm].
5 Setting into Operation
WARNING To prevent damage to your eyes,
never look directly into the light
source for a long time.
Please note that stroboscopic effects
and fast colour changes may trigger
epileptic seizures with photosensi-
tive
persons
epilepsy!
1) To switch on, connect the mains cable supplied
to the mains input (9) and the mains plug to a
socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz). The display shows the
last adjustment for some time.
2) To switch off the unit, disconnect the mains
plug from the socket.
For a more convenient operation, it is recom-
mended to connect the unit to a socket which can
be switched on and off via a light switch.
Caution: Do not connect the unit to the mains volt-
age via a dimmer!

5.1 Power supply for additional units
Via the mains output POWER LINK OUT (10) addi-
tional units may be supplied with mains voltage,
e. g. further panels RGBL-112DMX. To intercon-
nect several RGBL-112DMX, connect the output
POWER LINK OUT of the first unit via a mains
cable with 3-pin IEC plug and 3-pin IEC inline jack
(e. g. AAC-170 / SW from MONACOR) to the mains
input (9) of the second unit. Connect the second
unit to the third unit in the same way etc. until all
units will been connected in a chain. Once the
mains input of the first unit is connected to a socket
(230 V~ / 50 Hz) via its mains cable, all units of the
chain are switched on.
WARNING When several units are connected
with each other for power supply, the
total current in the mains cables
must not exceed 10 A, otherwise a
cable fire may occur due to overload!
Therefore only interconnect 56 units
of type RGBL-112DMX as a maxi-
mum.
6 Operation
The adjustments of the units are made via a system
menu to be operated by means of the buttons (7)
and the display (8). The display is activated by
pressing any button and shows the last adjustment.
The indication will be extinguished some time after
the last button has been pressed.
The buttons have the following functions:
– Button MENU / ESC to return to the previous
menu level
– Button ENTER to go to the next menu function
– Buttons UP and DOWN to select the menu
options and to adjust certain menu functions
The menu structure is shown on page 19.
By means of chapter 7 or 8 make the adjustments
for the respective operating mode with the buttons.
