Triac Set #013463
All manuals and user guides at all-guides.com
Preparing the groove with a grooving tool or grooving machine
The seam has to be prepared with a groove suitable to the welding
rod. The groove depth should not amount more than 2/3 of the
flooring thickness. It should not amount more than 1.8 mm if you
use a 4 mm welding rod.
Check always the depth and straightness of the groove. The
adjustable guide of the grooving tool is used as guide in the
seam. The blade can be used on 4 sides.
Welding with the Triac Set
Setting the correct temperature
You have set the adequate temperature, if a little string of melted
material will show at the point where welding rod and flooring
surface meets. This indicates that the surface had melted.
If the string is getting bigger, guide the Triac Set a bit faster. It
should be hardly visible.
The following information has to be interpreted as standard
values. These values will vary on the basis of ambient temperature,
type of flooring and welding rod.
Standard values for the welding temperature
These standard values should help the user to operate the Triac Set.
Always follow the specifications of the flooring manufacturers.
Floor covering
PVC, Polyolefine
Linoleum, Caoutchouc
Changing the nozzle
Allow the tool to cool down, or use only combination pliers. Do
not touch hot parts and put them on a heat resistant surface,
because of fire hazard!
remove screw (4) and nozzle (3)
put new nozzle on and tighten screw (4)
Heating-up the welding gun
Switch on the welding gun and allow to warm up for about 5 min.
Welding
Heat only the area of the groove. The other parts besides the
groove should not be heated. You avoid shiny stripes along the
groove by that means. Press the welding rod into the groove
with the pressure roller.
