6 Operation of the chlorinator
The AQUALUX chlorinator is a reverse polarity electronic chlorine generator exclusively dedicated to domestic swimming
pools. It is made of a control unit and a production cell. The pool must contain 3.5g/l of salt. Use only salt EN 973 – A. Salt
molecules are transformed into chlorine when passing through the cell. This process is called electrolysis. The chlorine's
strong oxidising properties allow disinfecting the pool. At the end of the cycle, this chlorine is transformed back into salt. In
enclosed premises, there would be no need to add any salt but some of it is eliminated by splashes and filter cleaning
processes.
In order to ensure an efficient treatment, we recommend the installation of an optional automatic pH injection system Ref.
Doseco (art. code 103453) or Mixy Link (art. code 100934).
The optional grounding anode (ref. : ANMT050 ou 63) allows evacuating the static electricity of the pool water towards the
ground, whatever its origin. Indeed, in some cases, static electricity can facilitate the apparition of oxidation on metallic part
in contact with the swimming pool's water. This can perturbate the operation of electronical devices. Connect the electrode
to your installation's ground plug.
AQUALUX chlorinators work with a reverse polarity on the cell's terminals. This limits the apparition of scale on the cell.
The duration of the reversal cycle is of 4 hours.
Important :
The chlorinator's hydraulic system must be open and crossed by a flow of water before switching on the unit. It is
definitely not advised to switch on the chlorinator if this system is not correctly irrigated by the pool's water.
Failure in respecting this advise causes the destruction of the electrolysis cell. This may explode due to the pressure of
the gases emitted.
6.1 Using the keypad
and
: use these buttons to adjust the production level from 0% to 100% by steps of 10% (0 to 10 on the
screen).
After a few minutes at a level of 0%, the chlorinator is automatically in stand by position and the indicators and the screen
switch off. It can be reactivated by pressing a key.
6.2 Operation indicator
Malfunction indicator.
Lit up when the cell is in operation.
The AQUALUX chlorinator operates according to the programmed production percentage and reduces down to 20% of
that setting when an automatic pool cover is connected to the chlorinator's unit. In that case, the green production indicator
flashes.
In case the pool is not covered, the green indicator remains lit up.
