7 First start / preparing the pool

7.1.1 Preparing the pool

Switch off the electric power supply and close the by-pass to avoid damaging the cell of your AQUALUX chlorinator
during intensive chlorination.
Make sure that pH is between 7,0 et 7,4.
If your water do not come from public water system, for example drilling, well, spring, proceed a pretreament with
a sequestering metal product.
Check the water parameters (total alkali strength, hardness and stabilizer rate) and adjust if necessary.
Check the stabilizer rate in the pool. A chlorine stabilizer rate between 25 and 50 mg/l prevents the quick
deterioration of the chlorine produced by the AQUALUX chlorinator, especially in very sunny periods. If you are
using fresh water, the stabilizer content is zero.
If the stabilizer rate is between 25mg/l and 50 mg/l proceed with an intensive chlorination using a non-
o
stabilized product (Moonipo).
If the stabilizer rate is less than 25mg/l proceed with an intensive chlorination using a stabilized product
o
(Moondifix 56%)
WARNING: Over-stabilized water inhibits the chlorine and prevents your pool from being correctly disinfected. If the
stabilizer rate exceeds 50mg/l, all or part of the water in the pool will have to be replaced by fresh water.
Add the quantity of salt required by your AQUALUX chlorinator (3.5g/L).
Pool Volume (m
Salt quantity (kg)
Only use Aqualux electrolysis salt which complies with the standard EN 973 – Type A. (Ref 100378).
The hardness of the water expresses the quantity of Ca
hardness of the water must be between 10°f and 25°f (French degrees).
The total alkali strength of the water (T.A.C) expresses its buffering capacities, which is the quantity of CO
present in the water. The total alkali strength of your water must be between 8°f and14°f (French degrees).

7.1.2 Starting up

- Put the filter's valve in circulation position,
- Put the pump in forced position
- Wait for the complete dissolution of the salt (to speed the process you can pre dissolve the salt in buckets before
putting it in the pool)
- Check the salt rate in the pool and adjust it if necessary
- Switch off the pump
- Put the filter's valve in filtration position,
- Switch on the pump
- Switch on the circuit breaker of the salt chlorinator
- The display screen lights on and shows the production level
- Check the slavery link (switch off the pump , the slat chlorinator must switch off, otherwise check the slavery link).
- Switch on the pump
- Adjust the filtration time according to the water temperature.
