DAS VORBILD
Diese formschöne Tenderlokomotive wurde 1917 von der Lo-
komotivfabrik Jung für die Pillkaller Kleinbahn gebaut. 1944
kam sie zur Spreewaldbahn, einer romantischen Bahnlinie
entlang der Kanäle und baumbestandenen Chausseen in der
Nähe von Cottbus.
Leider existiert die Spreewaldbahn nicht mehr, doch die Lok
ist erhalten geblieben. Heute fährt sie im Sommer auf der
Museumsbahn des Deutschen Eisenbahn-Vereins (DEV) in
Bruchhausen-Vilsen bei Bremen zur Freude von Touristen
und Eisenbahnfreunden.

THE PROTOTYPE
This beautifully proportioned tanklocomotive was built in
1917 at the Jung Locomotive Works for the Pillkaller Schmal-
spurbahn (narrow gauge line). The loco became well known
after it was transferred to the Spreewald Railway near
Cottbus, a romantic railway line running along the canals
and tree-lined roads of this famous area.
Unfortunately, the Spreewald line is gone, but the loco-
motive was preserved by the Deutscher Eisenbahn-Verein
(DEV) in Bruchhausen-Vilsen, near Bremen. Today it runs
on summer weekends to the delight of tourists and railroad
enthusiasts alike.
