Connection
to a computer
• The drivers for the clock radio are included in Windows ME, XP, Vista and 2000. The clock
radio is automatically recognised as a removable drive.
• Wait until the operating system is completely loaded. Then connect the USB socket (15) on
the back of the clock radio with a free USB 2.0 port on your computer using the provided USB
cable.
• Windows recognises the new hardware and installs the drivers. Wait until the installation is
complete.
• The internal memory of the clock radio as well as the SD memory card slot are recognised
as a removable drive.
If an additional drive with system information is shown in Windows when the
clock radio is connected to your computer, that drive represents the firmware
of your clock radio. Do not change, delete or add any data here.
Otherwise the clock radio will not work anymore!
• Before disconnecting the clock radio from your computer, wait until all file transfers are
complete.
There is a little arrow symbol ("Safely remove hardware") in the Windows menu bar. This
function serves to tell Windows that you want to disconnect the device. All open files are
closed and Windows informs you when the device can be removed.
If you disconnect the USB connection during operating, the file system of the
clock radio can be corrupted, e.g. data is no longer listed in the table of contents
or files cannot be played properly any more.
• The buttons on the clock radio are deactivated when it is connected to a computer.
