Getting started
a) Inserting the backup battery
The backup battery might already be inserted upon delivery and is therefore not
supplied as an individual part.
The manufacturer might have supplied the battery with a protective strip to
prevent premature discharge. If this is the case, remove the protective strip.
Open the battery compartment on the bottom by pushing
the cover (19) towards the back.
If four AA batteries have already been inserted, remove
them from the battery compartment.
Remove the small cover in the middle of the battery
compartment by loosening the small screw that holds it.
Insert a CR2025 coin cell battery observing the correct
polarity. The positive terminal (+) must be pointing towards
you.
Reattach the cover and screw it tight.
Backup battery life is about 1 year. It is
needed to maintain the data (time/date) in
case of the power failure.
If you do not intend to insert AA batteries (see next section),
close the battery compartment by reattaching the cover.
b) Aerial for FM radio
Make sure you connect the supplied 3.5mm stereo jack cable to the AUX audio input (18), as
it also serves as an external aerial.
