SEL BLUE
1-Deactivate ORP
This option is only available in the models with pH regulation or dynamic models.
Models with ORP chlorine regulation: this feature is activated by default (value shown on the main screen). It may
be deactivated for maintenance on the sensor or to restore manual adjustment of chlorine production.
2 -Setting ORP
Adjustment of the ORP setting (400 mV~750 mV). Factory setting of 700mV.
Choosing the setpoint is considered critical to achieving good water disinfection. ORP is a relative measurement.
Each swimming pool has its own "ideal" setpoint: To find this setpoint, follow these steps:
 Check to make sure your water's parameters (pH, chlorine level, TAC, stabilising agent, salt) are correct (Fig. 1)
 Turn on the filtering for a few hours without a time setting and without turning on the chlorinator, with the
ORP sensor placed in its slot for the amount of time required to get the water's chemistry to become stable
(certain pools may require up to 24h).
 Start up the device and wait for 2 minutes until the ORP value displayed on the screen remains steady. Take
note of this value.
 Go to the ORP Setting in the ORP Menu and adjust to the value you have noted.
Once this setpoint has been identified, you can increase or decrease it in order to increase or decrease, respectively,
chlorine production so as to remain within the optimum chlorine concentration range (0.5<ppm CL<3)
Warning: Do not change the production setpoint without first necessarily having verified the chlorine and pH level
in the pool.
Warning: The ORP measurement may vary depending on the time setting and heavy UV radiation exposure.
Restoring the setpoint value may take several hours, the time required for the chlorine adjustment to take effect.
If, after several hours, you notice that the ORP measurement remains low, you can activate the BOOST feature
(see BOOST) to restore it more quickly.
Warning: A heavy stabilising agent concentration may distort ORP measurements and lead to excess chlorine
production.
3-Sensor calibration
The sensors are calibrated upon leaving the factory. However, it is recommended to perform calibration upon
installation of the sensor.
The calibration must be verified at least once per year.
Calibration process:
Warning: Before calibrating the sensor, verify that no chlorination is occurring. If electrolysis is taking place, adjust
chlorine production to 0%.
1) Unscrew the cell as far as possible (it is not necessary to stop the filtering pump),
2) take the sensor out of its space, rinse it and wet it in the pH solution by shaking. When the value displayed
on the main screen is stable (1 to 2 minutes), go into "Sensor Calibration" in the "ORP Menu."
3) Adjust the value as close as possible to the calibration solution and validate.
4) Put the sensor back into its space on the cell, and then screw the cell into the vessel (Fig. 8.2).
5) Flush the cell (Fig 8.3).
6) Restore the chlorinator to normal production conditions (% prod.).
7) Return to main screen
