2.10
Junction boxes equipped with cable glands and matching blanking plugs (warning on the Ex
label: WARNING – LOW IMPACT RESISTANCE (MANUAL)) must only be installed in areas with
a low risk of impact forces (4J) unless these cable glands are mechanically protected against
higher impact forces (7J).
2.11
If the above-mentioned blanking plug is removed during installation, then the integrity of the
seal must be checked, and if necessary, it must be replaced with an original replacement seal.
2.12
Only the Ex labels fitted by YSEBAERT and (any) tag plates are part of the scope of this
certificate. Any other tag plates, self-adhesive notices, labels etc., must also comply with the
static electricity requirements in accordance with EN60079-0 and EN60079-14.
2.13
The junction box must be cleaned with a damp cloth. This is to prevent the risk of the Ex label
and any tag plates becoming electrostatically charged (warning on the Ex label: WARNING –
POTENTIAL ELECTROSTATIC CHARGING HAZARD (MANUAL)).
2.14
If the junction box is fitted with an external bolt, then this bolt must be connected to an
equipotential conductor (EP) of min. 4 mm². In addition, if this bolt is intended for earthing
purposes (PE), then the values in the table below will apply, but with a min. of 4mm².
Cross-section of phase
2.15
The user must use an appropriate cable lug (type U or O) to attach the above-mentioned
equipotential (and) earthing conductor between the 2 flat washers especially provided for
this purpose, and the conductors must be installed in such a way so as to prevent any
torsion.
2.16
It is strictly prohibited to add any terminals to the terminal strip yourselves. Extra terminals
will require prior checking by YSEBAERT with regard to the maximum nominal current and
voltage.
2.17
It is strictly prohibited to add any terminal bridges to the terminal strip yourselves. After all,
the use of terminal bridges may reduce the maximum nominal current, and with terminal
bridges one must take into account a reduction in the nominal voltage. This will require prior
checking by YSEBAERT.
2.18
It is strictly prohibited to add any non-original YSEBAERT earthing rails.
2.19
The standard junction boxes are suitable for fixed installations. If one or several cables are
not/cannot be permanently fixed into place without prior permission, then a special type of
cable gland must be used and this will require a new evaluation by YSEBAERT.
2.20
The user must clamp the cables into place properly (strain relief) in order to prevent them
from becoming detached in the cable gland as a result of torsion.
2.21
The cables must have an insulation voltage equivalent to at least the voltage stated on the Ex
label.
2.22
The cables must comply with the requirements of the EN 60079-14 standard (latest edition).
2.23
Junction boxes designed for an ambient temperature > 40°C, marked with a temperature
class T5/T4, will feature an additional warning on the Ex label: WARNING – SPECIAL CABLE
REQUIRED (MANUAL).
In this case, the installer/user must select cables suitable for a temperature of minimum the
ambient temperature increased by 40°C. These same requirements also apply to the cable
glands/plugs provided or replaced by the user.
