The battery charger is designed to work automatically. However, If a problem does occur, check the following:
PROBLEM
Charger will not turn OFF.
Green charge indicator never
turns on.
Green charge indicator lamp turns
off and on every few seconds
AFTER THREE HOURS without
slowing down.
Charging current is less than full
output rating of charger.
Green charge indicator lamp
turns on after only a few minutes
of charging.
Charge indicator lamp repeatedly
turns on and off, accompanied by a
clicking sound.
Charger makes a loud buzz or hum.

TROUBLESHOOTING
POSSIBLE
ON/OFF switch defective.
Battery has problem and will not take
full charge.
Two or more batteries connected in
parallel
Battery of 200 ampere hours or larger.
Battery is connected to application that
draws a small current (such as an auto
dome light).
Battery is partially charged.
Battery is defective (battery plates are
crusted) and will not accept a full
charge.
Severely discharged battery (but
otherwise good battery).
Battery is defective (will not accept
charge).
Charger is cycling after circuit breaking
overload.
Transformer laminations vibrate (buzz).
Shorted diode (hum).

SOLUTION
Have battery charger checked.
Have battery checked.
Do not parallel charge.
Requires more time to charge: continue
charging.
Continue charging.
Have checked and replace battery.
Allow charging to continue until battery has
recovered sufficiently to take a charge (Circuit
breaker will continue to cycle.
Have battery charged.
Wait until charger automatically resets itself
(DO NOT RETURN FOR SERVICE).
Continue charging. Buzz is not abnormal.
Have charged tested by qualified technician.
