12. Binding function

To ensure that the 2.4 GHz remote control can transmit a signal without interference, the transmitter and receiver
must have the same digital code. Calibration of the digital encoding (binding between the transmitter and receiver) is
performed using the binding function.
The transmitter and receiver are usually already paired when the leave the factory and can be used straight away.
Pairing only needs to be performed again if the transmitter or receiver has been replaced or to correct a malfunction.
Follow the steps below:
• Turn off the vehicle and then the transmitter.
• A binding plug (a 3-pin connector with a wire jumper
between the two outer contacts) is included, see image
to the right, position (A). Plug this into the free three-pin
"BIND/TH" connection (B) on the receiver/controller unit
(C) next to the cable for the steering servo.
• Switch on the remote, the red LED on the transmitter
should turn on and stay on.
• If you have not already done so, connect a drive battery
to the vehicle.
• Switch the vehicle on.
• The LED on the receiver/control unit should now flash rapidly. After a short while, the LED should remain on. The
receiver is now paired to the transmitter.
• First turn off the vehicle and then the transmitter.
• Remove the binding plug from the receiver/control unit by pulling it out.
• First switch on the transmitter before switching on the vehicle.
• Check that the vehicle reacts correctly to the transmitter's steering function.
