CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Before performing any cleaning and/or maintenance operations the
unit must be disconnected from the power supply and the water inlet
tap must be turned off.
CLEANING THE MARBLE
Use water and neutral products. Do not use products containing acids, solvents or lime-scale remover, all of
which could permanently damage the marble.
Do not use abrasive sponges or cloths.
PROTECTING THE MARBLE
Protective treatments should be applied to clean, dry marble.
Use water-based, protective water- and oil-repellent products specifically designed for marble so as not to
alter the colour of the marble.
Apply the treatment twice a year, every six months.
CLEANING THE BENCHES
Effegibi uses top quality, untreated natural teak of FEQ (First European Quality) standard. The surfaces are
finished by sanding them down many times using sandpaper with an ever finer grain to make them soft and
smooth to the touch.
Since wood is a natural material, it can be prone to surface oxidisation (1/2 mm), causing some loss of colour
and, over time, teak takes on a silvery-grey hue, a process that in no way compromises the performance of
the wood.
Cleaning and maintenance
• In very humid conditions teak may release a pinkish-colour oil, producing some surface staining. For
normal cleaning, use a soft cloth (not a micro-fibre one), water and SUNDECK SOAP.
• To avoid surface oxidisation, when the product is new the protective nutrient oil SUNDECK WOOD OIL
LIGHT can be applied.
• To remove the grey patina caused by oxidisation and restore the original colour of the teak, use GREY-
OFF every 2/3 years. After treating with GREY-OFF, the teak should be washed with SUNDECK SOAP
and oiled with SUNDECK WOOD OIL LIGHT, the latter applied to dry surfaces.
• If there are deep stains that are difficult to remove with SUNDECK SOAP, we recommend sanding down
the surface evenly and then treating it with GREY-OFF. Even when the product is installed under contract,
do not use GREY-OFF more than once a year.
• At all times avoid contact with acids and harsh chemical solvents.
