- Avoid unbalanced and awkward positions when
working. Never work above 75 cm above the ground. This
gives you better control of the product in unexpected
situations.
- Only use a clearing blade recommended by the
manufacturer. The use of other accessories can cause
kickback.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for maintenance.

2.5 Safety devices of the product

2.5.1 To do a check of the power switch

Start the engine. Refer to "4.4 To start the product" on
page 39.

Let the product idle.

Move the power switch to the stop position and make
sure that the engine stops.
2.5.2 Trimmer guard
The trimmer guard prevents a loose object to eject in the
direction of the operator. Examine the trimmer guard for
damage and replace if it is damaged. Only use the approved
trimmer guard.
2.5.3 To do a check of the centrifugal clutch

Let the product idle.

Make sure that the cutting attachment does not
rotate when the product idles.

2.6 Cutting equipment

● Only use trimmer heads, clearing blades and accessories
recommended by the manufacturer.
● Examine the cutting attachment for damage and cracks.
Replace the damaged cutting attachment.
● Make sure that the cutting attachment is correctly fitted.
● Always stop the engine before you do any work on the
cutting attachment. This continues to rotate even after
the throttle has been released. Ensure that the cutting
attachment has stopped completely and disconnect the
spark plug cap before you touch it.
● If the cutting attachment rotates at idle speed, speak to
your authorized service center. Do not use the product
until it is repaired.

2.6.1 Trimmer head
Use the trimmer head to cut grass. Do not use the product
for other tasks than grass trimming and grass clearing.
2.6.2 Clearing blade
Use the clearing blade for thick weeds, coarse and wet
grass, and brushwood with a diameter of up to Ø 13 mm. Do
not use the clearing blade for any other tasks.
2.6.3 Saw blade
Use a saw blade to cut fibrous types of wood. Do not use the
saw blade for any other tasks.
2.7 Safety instructions for
maintenance
● Maintain the product in accordance with these
instructions.
● Remove the spark plug before you do any maintenance
to the product.
● The exhaust fumes from the engine are hot and can
contain sparks. Risk of fire. Always let the product
become cool before storage.
● Always stop the engine and make sure that the cutting
equipment does not rotate before you move the product
to another location. Move the product with the cutting
head down to avoid leakage of fuel.

2.8 Transport safety

● Transport the product with an empty fuel tank.
● Let the engine become cool before you transport the
product.
● Secure the product during transport.

2.9 Fuel safety

● Always handle the fuel outdoors or where there is plenty
of ventilation.
● Fuel and fuel vapour are highly flammable and can cause
serious injury when inhaled or allowed to come in
contact with the skin. For this reason, observe caution
with fuel handling and make sure that there is adequate
ventilation.
● Handle the fuel with at a safe distance from sparks and
naked flames. Never handle fuel where there can be
naked flames, such as smoking or sparks.
● Always stop the engine and let it cool for a few minutes
before you refuel.
