Repair and maintenance
The radio handset contains no parts that can be repaired or serviced by the user.
Never open the housing. Otherwise the radio handset will be damaged and will no
longer be sealed.
Repairs or modifications to the radio handset as well as its accessories may only be
performed by the manufacturer itself or by an authorised technician.
Storage
When storing the radio handset for extended periods of time, store it in non-conductive
packaging that protects it from dirt and moisture. Use the original packaging if possible.
The socket and mounts for the battery may not be contaminated during storage.
If possible, keep the side connector tightly sealed, e.g. with the specially threaded
side connector caps of the FT4 or FT5 or with the connector of an accessory.
Disposal
The return and environmentally responsible disposal of old electric and electronic units
is governed by the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act.
All electrical and electronic devices marked with the crossed-out rubbish bin as well
as their components, e.g. depleted batteries, must not be disposed of together with
household waste, but must be collected separately and disposed of / recycled in an
environmentally friendly manner.
Return these devices and components to municipal collection points for electronic
scrap, dealers or directly to the manufacturer. All components of these
old units that contain hazardous substances will be collected separately
and disposed of in an environmentally friendly way, according to their de-
gree of harmfulness. All other components not containing any hazardous
substances are reused as secondary raw materials.
Always dispose of batteries in a discharged state.
