Proper use / Duties of the system operator
Safety information
The chapter contains important information regarding the use, reliability and output of
the radio handset and the battery.
Proper use
The radio handset is intended for use in TETRA-standard radio networks. Due to its de-
sign, direct operation with other public telecommunication network interfaces is not pos-
sible.
Duties of the system operator
The operator of a personal alarm system must set up operating instructions for the use
of personal alarm devices. The following safety information and the operating manual
cannot replace the operating instructions.
Relevant national regulations and legislature in respect of industrial health and safety
are also applicable.
In the Federal Republic of Germany, the operator of a personal alarm system (PAS),
usually the employer, using a risk assessment as a point of departure, compiles a set
of operating instructions, determining which types of automatic alarm are to be used in
hazardous places in which workers work alone in the establishment, in order to safe-
guard employees. The employer can make the use of personal alarm devices as per-
sonal safety equipment mandatory..
The operator of a Personal-Alarm System can use these safety notes and the operat-
ingmanual to compile operatinginstructions. In so doing, the operator must take the cur-
rent programmin g of idividual personal alarm devices into account, which applies
secifically to the Personal alarm system in use.
If the personal alarm system is to be used in hazardous places in which workers work
alone, the overall system must comply with the device and test requirements of
DIN V VDE V 0825-1 and/or DIN V VDE V 825-11 standards. In this regard, see the re-
quirements and safety regulations of the Federal German Employer's Liability Insur-
ance Association, in accordance with DGUV Rule 112-139 Use of personal alarm
systems (previously: BGR/GUV-R 139).
