Risk to your hearing
The radio handset is equipped with an additional loudspeaker at the rear of the
housing for hands-free mode and PTT radio telephony mode. Never hold this loud-
speaker in direct proximity to your ear!
A level of more than 80dB(A) as measured at the sound source can be reached
when signalling a call and in open listening mode (hands-free mode) and may - if
the distance between the loudspeaker and the ear is too small, or if this exposure
occurs very often - cause permanent hearing damage.
The following operating states of your radio handset generate
high sound volumes:
Loudspeaker (hands-free mode)
Call signalling
Pre-alarms, personal alarms and sensor tests
Always maintain an adequate distance between your ear and the loudspeaker on
the rear side of the radio handset.
If you use a headset in conjunction with the radio handset, excessive volume can
likewise result in damage to hearing. The volume must therefore be reduced to the
minimum setting (anti-clockwise rotation, when viewing the knob from above) before
the headset is connected and switched on. Perform a test call and set a volume that
is comfortable for you. Then lock the function of the rotary knob, so that the volume
cannot be changed unintentionally.
Interference with electronic medical implants
Although at this time there is no scientifically substantiated evidence of health risks
caused by the influence of electromagnetic fields below the recommended limits, we
recommend that persons with pacemakers or who wear other electronic medical im-
plants should always wear the radio handset on the side of the body opposite to that
on which the pacemakers or implants are present.
Do not wea r theradio directly over the implanted pacemaker, for example in a
Breast pocket. If necessary, consult your doctor.
