Coupling/motor adapter/motor
A motor with or without a drive can be connected to the steering. Correct design of the drive will
prevent dangers arising from this linear unit.
The motor is adapted via a motor adapter consisting of motor plate/s and coupling housing, plus
a coupling. This matched combination ensures that the components are aligned axially. The mo-
tor/linear shaft combination determines the motor adapter version. The installation follows a lo-
gical sequence. The coupling is fastened to the drive and plugged through the installed motor
adapter on to the pins of the linear unit. The coupling hub is pulled on to the pins of the linear
unit through the installation opening in the coupling housing. One or two motor plates are used,
depending on the version.
The pipe guide caps must be matched to the pipe guide. The deciding factor is the width of the
coupling flange of the motor adapter sub-assembly.
Centring rings must be used in some versions. This interface is stipulated for motor types from RK
Rose+Krieger GmbH's RK product range. A selection matrix in the Linear Components cata-
logue shows the right adaptation.
The customer may design different combinations at its own discretion and risk.
