12.6 ELECTRIC MOTOR
The side channel blowers are equipped with electric motors with specifications: single-phase, two-pole three-phase, continuous duty
(S1), according to efficiency class as per the current regulations.
The motors of K series MOR version and R series MOR/GOR version side channel blowers have PTO thermal protectors (standard),
PTC on request.
Danger of sudden restarting.
The PTO thermal protector is an normally-closed electromechanical device. Once the tripping temperature is reached, it opens and
stops the electric motor. The electric motor resumes normal operation when the temperature falls below the trip threshold. Take
suitable steps to prevent injury and damage to property in case of sudden restarting.
ATTENTION!
The units are equipped with motors S1 for continuous operation.
A maximum of 6 starts per hour, equally distributed, are permitted. Non-compliance can damage the unit.
For GOR version blowers, comply strictly with the safety measures and instructions given in the
electric motor instruction manual.
12.6.1
ELECTRIC MOTOR REFERENCE STANDARD (EU)
•
The electric motors that power the machines are CE marked
•
The wide range three-phase electric motors supplied by FPZ that power MOR version blowers ensure correct operation in the
range of voltages specified on the rating plate, which is wider than that provided for by the regulations for standard motors:
Up to 4.0 kW inclusive: 345-415/200-240V 50Hz - 380-480/220-280V 60Hz. IE2 only 230/400V-50Hz
5.5 kW to 15 kW inclusive: 600-720/345-415V 50Hz - 660-830/380-480V 60Hz. IE2 only 400/690V-50Hz
MOR version blowers with electric motors exceeding 15 kW are not wide range, and are not IE2
•
The electric motors comply with EU regulation 4/2014 and the efficiency class specified in standard IEC 60034-30
12.6.2
CONNECTION
ATTENTION!
Connection to the grid must comply with the current regulations.
Make sure the mains voltage and frequency match the values given on the motor rating plate.
Danger due to electricity!
• Before starting work on the unit or system, take the following precautions:
- make sure the machine is NOT powered;
- take steps to prevent the power from being reconnected;
• The terminal box must not contain:
- foreign bodies;
- impurities;
- moisture.
•
The machines are supplied without control panel.
•
Wire sizes must be able to take maximum current absorbed by the electric motor.
•
The electric motor must be protected against the effects of short circuit, overload, phase failure and reconnection that can cause
overvoltages.
•
Before connecting to the grid, make sure to connect the earth wire to the respective electric motor terminal indicated by the
following symbol
.
•
Use the openings in the cable clamps to run the power cables inside the terminal box.
•
After making the terminal box connections, tighten the cable clamp to secure the cables.
